Neighbors helping neighbors is at the heart of the 33 Conferences in the Dayton District Council. Located in 34 parishes and two universities across the Miami Valley, the St. Vincent de Paul Conferences provide person-to-person assistance to the impoverished members of their communities.
Conference members, known as Vincentians, visit those in need in their homes and show God's love in many ways. Bringing groceries or making a utility payment. Providing medication or arranging for transportation. Assisting with a job search or enlisting a social service agency. Listening with compassion and offering prayers.
Funding for their assistance is provided through regular collections taken in their local parishes and in part, by the Dayton District Council*.
To join a conference, contact a Conference President through your parish or organization or attend a regularly scheduled meeting in your community. New conferences may be formed by contacting Ann Goebel at (937) 222-7349, ext 101. Conferences are welcome from any faith-based or community group. We'd love to have you join us.
